Duane Johnston started Accolade Fitness in March 2009. Through years of gym membership, Duane endured several ownership changes, name changes and philosophy changes. He understood firsthand that most gym members just want a clean, friendly environment and plenty of fully functioning equipment – so they can get in a workout at their own time and own pace without the corporate runaround.
At Accolade Fitness, our main goal is to give each member an optimal workout experience by (1) providing up-to-date, professional grade equipment that is functioning 100% of the time and (2) maintaining an inviting, clean facility.
We are a locally owned, independent gym and are not affiliated with any franchise. That means an owner or manager will be on site during all operating hours to ensure that the gym runs smoothly and that all member questions or concerns are addressed. We invite members to notify us immediately if they see something that needs cleaning or is not functioning properly. We will do our best to make it satisfactory.
This very basic and simple business philosophy has been the key to our success, and Duane was very excited for the opportunity to expand a second Accolade Fitness location in southwest Colorado Springs with partner Travis Weigel.
